Before my teenager years it was so casual thing for me to see someone wearing hijab and i didn’t even be curious about why people wearing it?It was like a tradition. But after being able to interact with other cultures i started to realize it is really interesting thing to non-muslim people and they are really curious about it .So i decided to write for explaining this issue as much as i can.

Firstly women are using hijab because Islam say that so and like other religions the most valuable thing is gaining the consent of God.This is enough for believers to wear hijab but the reasons are much more comprehensive.Almost all religions have placed a limit on male and female relationships and have accepted adultery as a sin.Islam’s difference is that it tries to find solution to prevent these sins by giving orders.Generally people ask me why there isn’t rule for men?Actually there is.Islam considers male and female differences and it gives different roles. While women must wear hijab men must put their gaze down and both of them should wear modestly. You can think of this as parents giving different tasks while trying to solve the problem between the two taking into account their children’s different characteristics.

Another question i always faced was whether the hijab was a problem for people in social life .Actually this question has two answers according to what does this question really means. If this question considers the one who use hijab it is definetely not bothering social life.Actually the idea of wearing hijab is going wherever you want to go with comfort and being safe.Because you are already representing your religion and people are considering your sensivity towards life issues and this really gives big comfort. Also it is absolutely not an obstacle for working. You are only covering your hair not your opinions or intelligence.A national poet says on this subject: “You were going to send a shuttle to space and it got caught in your hijab?”So thinking that hijab is bothering social life is as absurd as this saying told.On the other hand of course there is some kind of problems concerning hijab but these are the same things with what people treat when they see something different and for me i don’t need this judgemental people in my life so it doesn’t matter what they are talking about .I respect all human beings opinions and living style i dont have right to say any single thing about people’s preference.

Additionally i want to share my experiences about this topic.I have lots of friends who doesn’t wear hijab and i literally respect them with my whole heart but i am seeing that they are being disturbed by unknown people’s gaze.We have social life and we are using public transport we are eating in the restaurants where everybody can eat and there can be a lot of malicious people. In these cases i have often witnessed my friends trying to cover their trousers with their t-shirts or wear their jackets or even tidy up their hair.So i think it is instinct for women to feel relax and avoid bad glances.Actually these days a lot of women prefer loose outfits and they can even dressing up from the men’s outfits.Because they want to feel relax and want to seem really beautiful if there is someone they find attractive. No woman wants to be subjected to the bad gaze of a perverted old man. These have the same logic with wearing hijab because you don’t have to wear hijab where you feel comfortable such as your home or your some relative’s home or while you are with your husband etc.

Finally i think wearing hijab opposes the views that see women as commodity and doesn’t cover women,on the contrary,it displays her honor and represents the right to choose the partner as much as men.

Please don’t forget to research differences before judge.Treat people the way you want to be treated. Thanks for reading my writing.
